- Effective coastal management requires a good understanding of the processes affecting particular coastal areas. Numerical modelling of shoreline change can assist in developing that understanding. However, good quality field information and an understanding of historic change is required to calibrate these tools. This paper looks at a case study of shoreline change as a tool to assist in the development of better coastal management.
