- This report presents results of research into issues raised by development proposals for Ocean Beach, Hawke’s Bay. It draws on three data sources – key informant interviews, public submissions, and published reports and plans. The report’s is to illustrate a selection of key concerns, rather than to be exhaustive, or representative of all opinions. In draws, in particular, on the views of those institutions and members of the public who have chosen to participate in the planning process for Ocean Beach. Most, although not all, are opposed to substantial development at the site; we report and analyze their views here, but do not seek to judge what option would be most appropriate for Ocean Beach.
