- 37 lichen taxa from 17 genera are reported from coastal dune ridges near the Arawata and Waiatoto Rivers, South Westland. Lichens recorded are characteristic of Westland coastal forest, have affinities with those of coastal forest on Stewart Island, and also incorporate a distinctive palaeotropical element.
