- The invertebrate fauna of the west arm of the Hutt River Estuary were studied as part of the Wellington Harbour Resource Management Study commissioned by the Wellington Harbour Maritime Planning Authority. The study comprised 31 sample sites located along 6 transects. The fauna was of low diversity, but high in numbers of individuals and biomass, and was considered typically estuarine.
